In town for a short business meeting and stopped here by happenstance. Fantastic place. Diverse beer selections and well-priced food. If I lived in NJ I'd be a regular there. Well worth a stop in.
Came to this bar for a pre-concert William Paterson meal and drink. Friday night at 6 and there were people here but still plenty of seats. Totally shocked on their craft beer list - it was totally insane and if you didn't know this was a huge beer spot then you might be surprised as well! For us non-beer drinkers then eh, it was alright on drinks. For food, I was also surprised by the vegetarian-friendliness of their menu. They even had vegetarian tacos, which my mom said were pretty good. My partner got the ahi tuna tacos and said they were awesome (so good I didn't even get a bite) and I had the salmon sandwich (without the bacon) and damn, it was also good. I totally judged this place on appearances and thought it was just going to be a standard pub but it was a lot better and surprised me (in a good way!). Will gladly come back when in the area again!
*First Visit Review* Found this place while searching Yelp and figured I give it a whirl for yesterday for the 50cent wing special. Place was about half full, has a very chill vibe. Extensive Beer List and the gentleman tending the bar was very knowledgeable on the beers. The wings came out perfectly cooked with a nice layer of sauce to them while my girlfriend got the angus sliders that were amazing. I can see this getting added as a staple go to in the future!
A fun destination. They have an interesting craft beer selection. This location does not offer the craft cocktail menu that they have at their Hoboken location. Their poutine was tasty - although I missed the presence of cheese curds. Be prepared to wait 40 minutes or more for your food order. The staff is friendly.
*Pre-COVID Review* Missing the Shepherd a little extra today.. Wanna know why? Well because, on Thursdays they have a taco special! For each day of the week, there's a different weekly special going on for me to enjoy! (I know, they're so sweet). I've come here on different days of the week and really like it because a) it's local b) has a great selection of beers and bar food c) the music is always on point. Almost every time we've visited, the food was always great. I usually ordered the following; - tacos ($2 each on Thursday's) - mussels (the broth is awesome) - pulled pork sliders (really great for a light dinner) - motz sticks (extra cheesy) The vibe is cool and the staff is fun. The only thing, there's never any parking. It's best you uber here so you don't have to worry about parking your car. There's limited spaces in the parking lot. You will have to resort in parking on the street.
